Dowhas an exciting opportunity for anInternational Trade Operations (ITO) Senior Logistics Specialist, located inMidland, MI.

About you and this role:

Provides expertise in Logistics related to Containerized transport. Works in a team focused on Exports and Imports to and from North America. Covers all modes of transport and is directly linked to our Customer Service Organization, Business Supply Chain, and Site Logistics. Requires broadened conceptual and working knowledge and experience in job discipline to perform a range of work assignments. Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations and receives a moderate level of guidance and direction. Analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents to solve problems.

In this role, you will require understanding of key business drivers for your discipline and function. You will need to be able to expand conceptual and working knowledge related to your discipline or functional area.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking all North American MPC & ISO exports from shipment creation through delivery to destination, including document distribution.

  • Analyzing milestone data to determine where proactive/reactive actions are to be taken.

  • Communicating missed milestones or delays to mutually agreed upon parties.

  • Facilitating daily, weekly, or monthly discussions or safety net meetings with key partners

  • Implementing key elements of the International Logistic work processes that contribute to service improvements and cost optimization across the supply chain.

  • Analyzing trends to identify areas of improvement to be addressed with internal functions and external Logistics Service Providers, Freight Forwarders, Brokers, and ocean carriers.

  • Identifying key issues and probable root causes for late shipments/deliveries and communication gaps for export shipments to Dow’s Market facing businesses and customers.  Assist with the implementation of corrective actions that are critical for immediate improvement for on time delivery and better communications.

  • Operational support to achieve the Critical Customer Service Requirements for businesses & end customers.  Assist with definition of key metrics to monitor performance.

  • Present recommendations weekly and implement corrective actions as agreed to by Dow & BDP (in collaboration with ITO)

  • Leading resolution via the following functional mailboxes: FNAROUT, FNAWOOD, FNADOCC, FNAEXSG

The critical competencies required for success include supply chain management skills, interpersonal effectiveness, understanding customer needs and single work process activities and interactions, teamwork, taking initiative, problem solving skills, value creation, technical proficiency in use of computer applications, analytical skills and project management skills

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant. A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or other Sciences is preferred.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or other related environment

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
