Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Miami Gardens, Florida
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the education industry in Miami Gardens, Florida, for a Sr. Accountant. The selected candidate will be instrumental in supporting the Controller and Director of Accounting in daily accounting operations.
Responsibilities:
• Efficient and detail-oriented execution of accounting and analytical duties.
• Proficient use of ERP financial systems.
• Regular communication with all department budget officers and personnel.
• Completion of routine and ad hoc financial reporting.
• Significant participation in year-end close and audits.
• Managing the inventory of fixed assets and overseeing capital and construction accounting policies and procedures.
• Recording and reconciling payroll and fringe benefits.
• Maintaining the vendor database, including updating and entering new vendors.
• Assisting with the daily bank cash position report and bank reconciliations.
• Serving on University committees as requested.
• Complying with departmental and University safety rules and regulations. Requirements
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is required.
• Must have experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations is essential.
• Should have a strong understanding of General Ledger management.
• Ability to handle Journal Entries is necessary.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Month End Close procedures is required.
• Experience with Financial Edge software is a plus.
