The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", IT Department has an exciting opportunity for a Microsoft O365 Product Owner. This role combines technical and business skills with leadership talent to deliver collaboration, communication, and process improvements for our stakeholders. The Microsoft O365 Product Owner will guide a team that is charged with the development, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of Office 365 deployments. The candidate will oversee this team of analysts and technical service managers through multiple implementations, migrations, and support. The incumbent will collaborate with both the internal technology teams and several of our business partners. This position will guide these resources through multiple complex O365 support initiatives and projects. The Microsoft O365 Product Owner provides oversight and coordination of efforts with colleagues across multiple engineering teams, operations groups, internal partners, and vendors. The individual must possess a curious mind and a passion for developing talent as they develop their team. An ability to prioritize outcomes and build consensus is essential to properly serve over 200 thousand users around the world.

  • Responsible for design and delivery of overall Microsoft strategy

  • Serves as the product owner for MS 365 products and product features, from evaluating the preview to enterprise-wide user rollout; develops a thorough understanding of the MS 365 suite of applications and their capabilities in relation to UM’s end-users’ needs; stays abreast of product evolution; understands both the engineering and business side of MS 365.

  • Serves as technical expert in the implementation of new deployments and the migration of applications and services to a cloud-based environment, such as Office365, including managing design and architecture, change management, and post-production support.

  • Oversee technical staff to ensure health management of Microsoft services including deployment, migration, management, support, and ongoing release cadences.

  • Oversight of design and ongoing management of campaigns and communication materials used for driving adoption of selected Microsoft services.

  • Oversee selection and management of vendor staff for technical, solution design/delivery and support functions including budget management.

  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining positive morale and providing clarity about competing priorities.

  • Utilize superior analytical abilities to successfully resolve conflicts, prioritize deliverables, and build consensus across organizational boundaries.

  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.

  • Ensures employees are trained in controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

MINUMIM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Communications, Organizational Change Management, or related field.

  • Microsoft Service Adoption Specialist certification.

  • Microsoft technical certifications in SharePoint, Exchange, or Microsoft Teams preferred.

  • Prosci and/or other organizational change management certifications preferred.

  • 10+ years O365 management experience including some combination of service management of SharePoint, Exchange, Teams and/or other solution delivery management including workflow tools such as Power Automate and Power Platform tools and their predecessors.

  • 10+ years of experience developing strategies, campaigns, and success measures for delivering organizational change.

  • 5+ years of Agile service management experience in running feature teams with Kanban, SCRUM, or other Agile methodology.

  • Experience in best practices for iterative service release and communications.

  • 5+ years of experience in division or department budget management

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including executive presentations.

  • Technical proficiency in service solution design including custom solutions in O365 utilizing Azure services as needed.

  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.

  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.

  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
