Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Functions include setting up, mixing and/or delivering production chemicals used in a manufacturing or process area where accuracy of chemical composition is important (e.g. wafer, ink toner, media) in process operation. Works from written and verbal instructions. Removes and disposes of waste chemicals, solvents and acids. Performs maintenance of production furnaces and cleans glass tubes and jungles. May profile furnaces and clean up chemical spills.
Sampling and analysis of chemical solutions following documented instructions.
Maintaining laboratory area clean, organized, and safe following 5S methodology.
Promotes safety in the workplace and assists with chemical related issues such as spills.
Registration and tidy upkeep of chemical analysis results.
Calibration or verification of calibration of, but not limited to, laboratory equipment (ICP, micropipettes, pH potentiometers, etc.).
Inventory updates and communication of laboratory requirements, purchase of chemicals and lab equipment.
Redacting lab reports and lab productivity reports.
MINIMUM REQUIRED PROFILE
Laboratory technician, and/or incomplete degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Materials, or related fields.
Intermediate English
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to work in a team
Follow-up on activities and results
Equipment and Tools Handling: Laboratory glassware, pipettes, pH indicators and potentiometer, scales, heating and stirring plates, thermometer, chronometers/timers.
Desirable: Conductivity meter, ICP, AAS, XRF, FT-IR, UV-VIS, spectrometers, hydrometer, filtration pumps, Kitasato and Buchner funnel, and muffle furnaces/ovens and crucibles.
