Job Description

  • Manage the coating department. Set clear expectations and hold front line leaders and operators accountable for results. Cultivate and reinforce appropriate group values, norms, and behaviors.

  • Develop and ensure best practices and standard operating procedures are implemented and followed.

  • Develop and implement operations improvement strategies for safety, cost, quality, training, inventory, and services.

  • Lead continuous improvement activities, 5S, housekeeping, and recycling programs.

  • Lead the efforts to create a safety conscious environment; be actively involved in safety initiatives.

  • Provide support for prompt problem solving of key issues, driving through from root cause identification to problem resolution.

  • Own and drive the department productivity and financial metrics (service, quality, productivity, cost, and safety).

  • Collaborate with other functional areas to resolve problems and develop improved manufacturing processes.

  • Understand and ensure compliance with cGMP, ISO 13485, ISO 9001 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 regulations

  • Assist in the investigation of customer complaints and nonconformances as required.

  • Manage multiple projects, priorities, and people in fast-paced environment.

  • Perform general management duties, exercising authority concerning staffing needs, training needs, performance appraisals, skill development, and timekeeping, and consistent application of organizational policies, promotions,and terminations.

  • Participate in the establishment and execution of the site annual operations plan.

  • Provide off-hours support for operations as needed.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or related field or equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years Operations/Manufacturing experience with 4+ manufacturing leadership experience.

  • Demonstrated successful experience in leading and managing individuals and teams.

  • Strong leadership and people skills. Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization.

  • Must be a change agent.

  • Knowledge of medical device manufacturing preferred; in absence of medical device manufacturing experience,

  • must have strong detail orientation and demonstrated ability to adhere to systems and procedures.

  • Working knowledge of modern manufacturing, material flow and improvement strategies, and the ability to integrate those into the operation.

  • Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and key drivers within the manufacturing environment.

  • Strong organizational skills in strategy, communication at all levels, and execution.

  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, MFG Pro, and function specific software.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills with an ability to openly convey

  • information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
