Meta Web Development Manager - Meta.com in Menlo Park, California

Summary:

The Meta Web Development Team is responsible for building and publishing web content and digital experiences for our global direct-to-consumer ecommerce business. This team leads the technical strategy, scoping, development, UAT, deployment and maintenance of our product marketing, sales and digital merchandising efforts while collaborating within a highly matrixed cross functional organization. Our team is looking for a Web Development Manager to lead the planning and web development execution on Meta's flagship website. This person will work closely with product, merchandisers, marketing, growth, and engineering teams while being responsible for the technical project management, build, testing and deployment of content and web experiences.

Required Skills:

Web Development Manager - Meta.com Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the end-to-end production and web development, UAT, launch readiness and release on the Meta e-commerce website.

  2. Trusted partner and consensus builder with other teams, helping them translate business requirements into customer-centric web experiences.

  3. Partner with key cross-functional partners to proactively plan web development roadmap and resourcing.

  4. Establish comprehensive technical project plans, milestones and work back schedules while proactively communicating dependencies and risks throughout each projects life cycle.

  5. Communicate technical capabilities, considerations and proposed solutions with cross-functional partners to drive informed decisions on go-to-market strategy planning. Identify and communicate with partners when interim approaches should be considered to meet both short term and long term goals.

  6. Lead prioritization and trade off discussions when there are multiple competing prioritizes and minimal developer bandwidth. Meet regularly with developers, reprioritizing sprints / tasks as needed to ensure all work remains on track while balancing several competing priorities.

  7. Prioritize scoping web development to meet short and long term business objectives, proactively building to maintain autonomy of changes within the business / CMS while meeting performance and accessibility standards.

  8. Scope all web developer tasks to include detailed direction to developers on implementation / execution of work. Provide code review support and troubleshooting as needed to successfully complete the build.

  9. Establish comprehensive testing plans. Lead bug bashes and prioritization exercises to ensure quality control of code and the customer experience across various break points and devices.

  10. Execute page builds / XML development to keep projects on track to meet business goals and timely launches.

  11. Manage launch rooms to ensure all work is pre-tested, released, and smoke tested post launch while monitoring and resolving reported issues / bugs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 6+ years of experience in website management including a proven track record of success driving business impact on a global scale through web experiences.

  2. Demonstrated experience in the technical aspects of running a website, including analytics, user experience (UX), technical and content Search Engine Optimization, domain management, Content Management System, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, platform tools, localization, documentation, and budgeting.

  3. Experience partnering closely with web developers and software engineering teams to drive technical solutions.

  4. Experience working and building relationships with cross-functional groups, specifically designers, UX, and content creators to craft compelling and impactful web experiences.

  5. Experience with a hyper-focused, always-on, startup environment, and manage multiple projects at once, balancing regularly to changing priorities.

  6. Experience troubleshooting and solving complex problems to enable our business to operate efficiently and without interruption.

Public Compensation:

$122,000/year to $176,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
