The Nursing Assistant is involved in both the clinical and administrative areas assisting Behavioral Health providers with patient care during face to face and telemedicine office visits as well as handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
The Nursing Support position works under general supervision of the RN Supervisor--Clinic providing clinical support to psychiatrists, clinic nursing, and medication distribution center. Other duties include documenting
individual care interventions, individual education in medical records, assisting with dynamic clinic flow, tele-psychiatry visits, and staffing concerns and needs of persons served with the nurses, prescribers, and clinical staff.

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certified Nurse Assistant in the State of Texas; OR
- Medical Assistant Certificate from one of the following:

``` - CMA - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) - RMA - American Medical Technologists (AMT) - CCMA - National Health Career Association (NHA) - NRCMA through National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP) - Experience working with individuals with serious mental health and/or substance use disorders preferred.

``` - Be able to complete detailed, yet concisedocumentation o n all services provided. - Ability to write clearly and professionally. - Can think clearly and logically, to deal with potentially dangerous and/or emotional situations. - Working knowledge of Behavioral Health medications (antipsychotics, antidepressants, psychotropic agents, and mood stabilizers, and anticonvulsants) - Knowledge of outpatient mental health systems and treatment approaches. - Good computer knowledge and the ability to learn new software systems. - Organization - Must have a valid Texas Driver License and good driving record.
