These include waste-to-energy facilities, transfer stations, ash monofills, landfills, and fleets of rail cars and collection vehicles. We process more than 11 million tons of waste annually, converting 6.7 million tons of waste into clean, renewable energy that powers 340,000 homes. We recycle more than 234,000 tons of plastic, paper and metals from the waste stream.
We are currently looking for a Scale House Operator. This position is responsible for determining the correct gross, tare and net weights on fuel deliveries and proper sampling for moisture content on all loads of processed fuel and logs delivered to or shipped from the facility.
The ideal candidate would have excellent organizational skills with ability to perform basic arithmetic calculation; strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to operate efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced and diversified work environment, basic typing/computer skills are necessary to operate the computerized scale system, basic knowledge of safety and standard operating procedures, recognize safety hazards and communicate effectively and be able to operate basic safety equipment, i.e. fire extinguisher, fire hoses; take part in safety meetings to achieve required training in Hazcom, Hazmat, fire suppression, First Aid, CPR, hearing conservation, and all other safety programs.
Work Environment:
- Working conditions are subject to moderate to high noise, fumes, dust and other airborne particles, moving equipment, high and low air temperatures.
