As an Enterprise IT Monitoring Engineer you are responsible for implementing, operating, and maintaining monitoring solutions for large-scale IT & OT applications within the Siemens Smart Infrastructure organization and our customers. They play a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, security and transparency of our building technologies. You will work as part of the development team together with business representatives in an international environment to define and manage the technical integrations from Siemens proprietary systems into a monitoring suite.

Your mission will be…

Monitoring Infrastructure:

• Set up and maintain monitoring infrastructure, including tools like BMC Truesight Operations Management and/or BMC Helix Operations Management

• Monitor system health, performance, and capacity.

• Create dashboards and alerts for real-time visibility.

Performance Optimization:

• Analyze system performance data to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.

• Optimize system configurations based on monitoring insights.

Incident Management:

• Detect and respond to incidents promptly.

• Rootcause analysis, troubleshoot issues, and escalate as needed.

• Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve problems.

Design and Implementation:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand monitoring requirements.

• Design and implement monitoring solutions for various IT components (servers, databases, networks, applications, etc.)

• Configure monitoring tools to collect relevant metrics and logs

• Support Release Building

• Deployment (Continous deployment)

Documentation:

• Maintain documentation related to monitoring processes, configurations, and best practices.

• Train other team members on monitoring tools and procedures.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.

• Evaluate and recommend new monitoring tools or enhancements to existing ones

We`re looking for...

• 3+ years of experience with monitoring solutions for IT/OT assets

• Experience with BMC Truesight Operations Management/BMC Helix Operations Management is a plus

• Scripting & Automation skills

• Good knowledge in operating systems Windows & Linux

Other Important Skills...

• Previous experience in (AWS) cloud environments including basic understanding of Kubernetes architecture

• DevOps mindset

• Basic experience in agile IT, e.g. SAFE or SCRUM methodology

• Knowledge of Siemens-owned technical systems is a plus

• Excellent oral and written skills in English

• Good communication and networking skills in an intercultural environment and across all management levels

• You will have to be proactive, be a technology knowledge seeker, work with a team,be able to solve problems and to know how to interact with all different kinds of teams
