This position will be based at The Scotts Miracle-Gro world headquarters in Marysville, a suburb of Columbus, OH. Not familiar with Columbus? Visit columbusregion.com/columbus-2020/ This distribution leadership role is critical to our warehouse strategic initiatives as well as our high service expectations. This individual will be responsible for integrating business practices that incorporate planning, logistics, retail-facing supply chain teams, and 3PL providers. In this role, you will be exposed to network analysis, demand/supply forecasting, capacity planning, and data analytics. Additional activities will include contract oversight of multiple 3PL warehouses, cross functional project management, and labor planning/modeling. Detailed Description: * Support and manage supply chain optimization (locations, size, customer mapping), working with sales, logistics and operations teams in our distribution network. * Drives the routine S&OP process, evolving as necessary with all distribution stakeholders, to ensure execution of the sales shipment plan. * Manages all financial and service related metric performance within the Distribution warehouse team. Lead for all daily/weekly/monthly distribution and logistics reporting. * Partner in with key stakeholders on the strategic distribution roadmap, including the expansion of technology, financial return on investment, and the resulting CAPEX/OPEX documentation for recommended projects * Improves warehouse effectiveness and efficiency using data-based analyses. Develops specific performance objectives and performance measures for warehouse operations Specific responsibilities: * Project Management: Aligned with the strategic plan, manage various projects across multiple workstreams that enable the group to achieve operational and financial goals. * Network Optimization: Support distribution and more broadly, supply chain, team(s), as we optimize our network to match current and future sales and inventory requirements. This includes modeling demand and supply flows, customer mapping, and working with third parties on site location and selection. Collaborate across departments to develop CAPEX/OPEX plans that support the project. * Business Systems: Support our distribution systems; serve as a key stakeholder and operational expert for the scoping and implementation of new systems. Gather requirements and business systems are customized for distribution team needs. Identify opportunities for systems improvement and enhancements and partner with cross functional teams to scope, build and implement. * Financial Execution: Work with our supply chain finance partners to drive performance to budget. Identify risk and opportunity areas and collaborate with the operation to mitigate and/or capture. Accountable for monthly 3PL financials forecasts and critical to building the annual distribution budget.
