Description We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist, based in Marshall, Michigan, for a role in the Healthcare/NHS industry. The role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity, where your primary function will be to manage patient accounts, including follow-up and collection efforts. You will interact with patients to arrange methods of payment, assist them in qualifying for financial assistance programs, and handle a high volume of incoming calls.

Responsibilities:

• Regularly follow-up on accounts to ensure timely payments • Place collection calls on accounts as per established procedures • Negotiate tactfully with patients to collect amounts owed • Assist patients in arranging methods of payment that are consistent with hospital procedures • Help patients qualify for the hospital's financial assistance program • Analyze large volumes of numerical and financial data to make informed decisions • Maintain a clear, concise, and complete history on each account according to established procedure • Review self-pay accounts to determine patient insurance status and input the information into the system • Respond to patient's requests for information in a timely manner and in accordance with established procedures • Answer a high volume of incoming calls, assisting patients appropriately • Assist patients with questions concerning insurance coverage and balances due. Requirements • Prior experience of at least two years in a similar role • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites • Comprehensive understanding and experience in Accounting Functions and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Demonstrated ability to handle Billing Functions and Collecting Payments • Experience in a heavily outbound role • Knowledge of HealthCare Billing and HealthCare Industry preferred • Experience in Insurance Verifications • Familiarity with various Analysis Techniques
