Production Supervisor\ Mars Hill, ME FT/Nights Temp-to-Hire Opportunity\ \ Job Description:\ \ Immediate need for a Production Supervisor to join the night shift of a well-established production facility in Mars Hill. Full-Time/Nights; 6:00 PM 6:00 AM; \$28.00 - \$30.00/hr.\ \ The Production Supervisor is accountable for the daily coordination of production operations in assigned areas of the facility. This employee will oversee assignments and review job performance for all team members under their direction in order to achieve quality, sanitation and production objectives while providing a safe and productive work environment. Desired candidate will have previous production and management experience, strong communication skills, and working knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.\ \ Responsibilities:\

  • Coordinate staff to ensure that all daily and weekly production goals are met.
  • Foster collaboration between team members and across shifts to develop a high-performance work environment.
  • Organize routine equipment maintenance and confirm proper operation at beginning of each shift.
  • Initiate work orders for equipment that cannot be repaired during the shift.
  • Ensure a safe work environment through prompt resolution of safety-related issues, monitoring of work practices, and holding safety reviews and training sessions with staff and management.
  • Respond to safety incidents and initiate incident/accident reports.
  • Requisition adequate production supplies (SAP) and protective gear (PPE) for crew.
  • Ensure food safety through strict adherence to sanitation guidelines established by company policies, as well as state and federal laws.
  • Follow all Safe Quality Food (SQF) principles pertinent to the position as specified by the SQF Practitioner.
  • Coordinate with sanitation crews for scheduling and ensure that cleanups are completed by the end of each shift.
  • Ensure product quality by adherence to product/packaging specifications and implement corrective actions to fix deficiencies.
  • Enable employees to make necessary changes to stay within product specifications.
  • Review and submit quality control paperwork.
  • Report all food safety and human safety concerns need to appropriate personnel; such as QA technician, Safety Manager, FSQ Manager, etc.
  • Cooperate with other members of the management team to adopt new workplace policies and procedures as directed.

\ Job Requirements:\

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required. Degree in business or production management strongly valued.
  • At least 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • At least 3 years of management and/or supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements and other applicable federal and state safety regulations.
  • Working knowledge of common practices and requirements for food safety; including HACCP, GMPs and worksite sanitation standards.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers, desktop software, and business systems.
  • Ability to embrace change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned.
