Logistics specialist- plant technician
Location: Marlin, TX
Reports to: Plant Manager
Summary:
Shrieve Chemical Services is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Plant Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for handling, storing, and shipping chemical products safely and efficiently while maintaining compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations and a strong commitment to safety and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments of raw materials and finished goods.
Store chemicals in designated locations following safety and handling procedures.
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular cycle counts.
Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling of hazardous materials.
Ensure proper labeling and documentation for hazardous and non-hazardous shipments.
Keep warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA and company safety standards.
Assist in loading and unloading trucks and verify shipping documentation.
Report any inventory discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns to the warehouse supervisor.
Skill and Knowledge Requirements:
HS Diploma or GED is required.
Minimum 1-2 years of warehouse, preferably in a chemical or hazardous materials environment, but not required.
Ability to read and interpret documents, orders, and instructions.
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Knowledge of hazardous material handling and DOT regulations is a plus.
