Commercial Operations and Strategic Enablement Team (COSE) of JJMT is responsible for optimizing commercial capabilities that are or should be standardized through the organization. Key responsibilities include managing variable compensation, territory planning commercial data needs and implementing a standardized approach to commercial agreements cross-functionally

Reporting to the Director of Commercial Operations and Strategic Enablement, this role will be responsible for driving change in the commercial agreement process across various functions, creating governance for key processes and forums, holding DRI’s accountable for key process improvements or deliverables, and building a process to monitor/track progress. This role will be working very closely with the Senior Manager, Strategic Contracts and Pricing through the implementation of recommended process improvements.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of improvements in the commercial agreement process. Improvements included but not limited to: Create RACI for roles and responsibilities, Standard ARF (Agreement Request Form)/ Intake form, guardrails for finance and HCC, categorize deals (very complex/complex/ simple/expedited), revise approval and signing authority.

  • Project Manager responsibilities are required for the role. As a Project Manager, this person will lead a team of cross-functional experts to prioritize and recommend solutions, obtain buy-in, implement solutions, and monitor that changes are being adopted.

  • Develop training cadence and protocol for current employees and onboarding of future hires

  • Run the agenda for Commercial Agreement Forum and ensure accomplishment of key objectives (e.g. timely approvals from key decision makers)

  • Establish plan for monitoring adoption and performance of new processes to ensure stability or elevate to the right level of organization as situation calls for, retrain stakeholders where needed.

  • Identify areas for improvement by collaborating with different functions, assessing what is working or needs further improvement, and ensuring that solutions address the needs of the organization on an annual basis (e.g. thresholds, pricing considerations, or ensuring that background gross profit commitments are refreshed).

Qualifications

Job Knowledge Requirements:

Education: A minimum of a University degree. A degree in Business or Finance is preferred. Formal education in Digital Automation (ML/AI/VR/AR) would be an asset but not mandatory.

Experience: A minimum 5 years of experience in Project and/or Change Management. With Contracting & Pricing or related business experience within Life-sciences industry (MedTech/Pharma) preferred.

  • Data analytical skills

  • Ability to work well in a matrix cross-functional environment and build support across a complex set of stakeholders

o Ability to form strong, trust-based relationships with Account Management, Commercial leaders, Finance, Legal, Health Care Compliance (HCC), Supply Chain and Contract Management Organization

  • Experience in leading changes impacting the culture and key processes of an organization

  • Ability to quickly understand and synthesize complex information and recommend optimal solutions

E. 2. Technical competency requirements:

  • Strong executive level communication skills, written and spoken

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong technical skills, high proficiency with MS Excel. Strong use of MS Word, MS Outlook, SAP (ERP), business intelligence systems (Tableau) and other desktop applications

F. Working Conditions

  • Office-based employees are based in Markham, Ontario, Canada, in a hybrid model of combined remote and onsite presence.

  • Office deskwork, requiring sitting, using the phone and computer.

G. Physical/Auditory & Visual Demands:

  • The position requires motion related to sitting, typing, looking at a computer screen.
