Sims Brothers Recycling Trailer Mechanic in Marion, Ohio
*Trailer Mechanic Needed *
Sims Bros. Recycling is looking for a full-time Trailer Mechanic at our Marion, Ohio plant location. The Trailer Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and general repairs on trailer units.
What can Sims Brothers offer you? This position is full-time; Monday-Friday, 7am to 4pm. Hourly pay based on experience. Benefits include Health Insurance, Life and Optional Life, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, 401(k), and Paid Time Off.
*Essential Duties: *
- Help diagnose and trouble shoot issues while effectively communicating with supervisor, teammates and drivers.
- Responsible for preparing and turning in paperwork and working with Inventory Clerk.
- Diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trailers, including preventative maintenance, inspections, air and hydraulic brakes, tires, warranty issues, driveline, steering, suspension and electrical. Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs to Company and DOT standards.
- Diagnose and repair trailer components such as doors, floors and side panels.
Use effective interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships with team members and vendors.
Requirements/Qualifications:

- Ability to work in all weather conditions; indoors and outdoors.
- Must be able to lift/move 20-100 lbs.
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure
- Good communication skills and reliable attendance is expected
- High school or post-secondary training in automotive repair
- On occasion able to work overtime as needed
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
