Job Description ROLE OVERVIEW Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. Shift: Overnight Mon-Fri 12:00 am - 8:30 am Pay: $27 - $32/hr based on skillset + $2.00 shift premium for being on 3rd shift WHAT YOU GET TO DO Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on production machinery; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micro-meters, and other measuring instruments. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and test equipment, multi-meters. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe work environment: attends required training, identifies and reports hazards; wears required PPE for position; and is accountable for self as well as co-workers safety. Participates in and/or supports continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge in facilitating Lean Six Sigma methodologies. WHAT WE VALUE Able to perform electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic trouble shooting and repair. Hands on experience with lathes, milling machines, drill presses, welding (wire, arc, gas and aluminum), plumbing and carpentry. Able to maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and other manufactur ng personnel. Requires basic computer skills and the ability to use computers to locate job assignments, materials and instructions required to perform preventative maintenance tasks; as well as the ability to work within the SAP production reporting system Good physical condition required for lifting, walking, pulling, bending over, and climbing. Maximum lifting weight of 75 pounds. WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU Post high school education in plant maintenance, electrical, machine shop, welding, and pneumatics troubleshooting and repair.
