JOIN THE TEAM
A Solution Architect for Business Process Integration and Order Automation provides tailored and aligned designs for connectivity solutions for internal partners and external companies via EDI and similar technologies. Depending on experience and professional background (seniority level), the architect will be responsible find the right digital solutions that fit into our overall architecture to address complex business requirements (Business processes in scope: Ordering/Market-to-Order, Procurement, Transport and Logistics, Finance and other related ERP processes).
The Architect is responsible for the definition of a future-oriented roadmap for the topics of Business Process Integration and Order Automation with the strategic vision to establish a Seamless Customer Experience (SCX) taking newest architectural principles into account. Based on technical and business process knowledge of the Architect and aligned with process design and architecture of NGBA, this roadmap will support our internal and external customers to translate their requirements into bestin-class Solution Designs. Furthermore, the Solution Architect takes care of the smooth and secure integration of new services into the overall BASF system landscape and existing backend systems.
The Architect works in a global, international setting for BPI DevOps, interacting with team members in all other regions to provide sustainable digital solutions for our partners. Within the team, the Solution Architect acts as multiplier and uses the expertise to support a continuous exchange of knowledge and thus the further development of the team regarding state-of-the-art connectivity solutions using API, micro services, generative AI and other industries relevant technical developments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Definition of a future-proof Roadmap that supports the transformation to a truly Seamless Customer Experience in a transforming business process and ERP landscape (NGBA)
Consult and support internal and external partners when dealing with complex processes and IT applications
Drive the landscape transformation by applying modern architectural principles (MACH, platform architecture)
Provides a deep technical understanding of standard connectivity message structures and programming protocols (supporting e.g. iDocs, XML, EDIFACT, VDA, JSON, etc.)
Ability to work and navigate in SAP middleware platforms (PO, CPI, etc.)
Showing transactional experience in SAP R3 and/or S4/HANA
Consult and support IT analysis (process and/or data), mentoring, modeling, solution design and optimization of related business processes and models
Execute studies in preliminary stages of projects, including evaluation of existing or new solutions
Ability to support strategic planning and realization
Coordinate and execute prototyping, configuration and testing of solutions based on BASF requirements, while ensuring quality and security aspects
Provide structured acceptance, analysis and description of solutions and/or concepts
Take care of code quality by defining coding conventions and development guidelines
Use standardized BASF methods, tools and reports
