JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Department of Surgery is seeking a highly motivated and self-directed Lab Technician to join an exciting research team studying the mechanisms of wound healing and therapies to improve healing using cell, animal and human wound models. This individual will perform general lab management duties, including tracking and replenishing supplies, maintaining equipment, updating protocols and records, as well as assisting in experiments. These duties require a presence in the lab during daytime weekday hours. There may be occasional evening or weekend hours if experimental support is needed. This individual may also work closely with students, residents and other researchers in different departments on a variety of exciting and challenging projects on the cutting edge of translational wound healing research. Work in this laboratory has the potential to lead to discoveries with direct translation to burn and wound patients. Responsibilities: Conducts research experiments with limited supervision. Provides technical support with some degree of independence for research projects and/or labs under moderate supervision. 25% Prepares lab and/or field test materials and samples according to established research requirements and specifications.
