Robert Half is looking for a Payroll and Accounting Specialist for a private club in Madison whose primary responsibilities include bi-weekly payroll processing, coordinating benefit programs, payroll taxes, assisting month-end close, AR, and AP. The ideal candidate will have solid accounting experience and understanding of GAAP, as well as be comfortable in a very collaborative team environment and willing to work on ad hoc accounting projects when needed.
Responsibilities include:
Bi-weekly payroll processing
Coordinate benefit programs including health, dental, life, 401k
Month-end close including journal entries and reconciliations
Assist the Accounting Assistant with AP and AR
Other general accounting tasks as assigned
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role with Associates Degree in Accounting; Bachelor's preferred
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance
• Ability to prepare and maintain Journal Entries
• Experience in Month End Close procedures
• Knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles
• Experience in Full Cycle Payroll processing
• Familiarity with Benefits Administration
• Proficiency in handling Payroll Taxes
