The Endoscopy Technician assists the medical team that uses endoscopes to diagnose and/or treat gastrointestinal problems. The Endoscopy Technician interacts with patients, prepares the room and equipment, and provides support to physicians and nurses while the procedure is underway, handles specimens collected and sterilizes equipment.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
CPR certification required
Experience with patient care in hospital setting, basic ECG.
Estimate a minimum training/orientation period of 12 weeks to become proficient in the job.
A fully contributing member of the team includes participation in the on-call schedule in conjunction with an RN partner, per unit call routine.
Well developed communications skills
Moderate level of understanding of medical terminology
Preferred
Prior endoscopy or gastrointestinal disorders knowledge
CNA, CPR, MA, EMT, or Surgical Technician Certification.
CRCST, Endoscopic Technician Certification
