D&S North, LLC dba Mission Point Resort Housekeeping Assistant Manager in Mackinac Island, Michigan

Ensure that the highest standards for cleanliness, safety, and sanitation are maintained throughout the resort. Work with the Front Desk, Laundry, Houseman, and Public Area teams to ensure that guest requests are responded to promptly and will direct his/her team by performing a variety of activities to ensure a consistently clean, orderly, and attractive environment within guest rooms and public spaces.

Duties include:

  • Work directly with the laundry team ensuring the team are meeting their KPIs, including reclaim, number of loads being washed, weight of the loads, and items being washed daily (10%)
  • Use property management systems (Maestro) to create housekeeping boards (10%)
  • Assist with administrative functions in the housekeeping areas, which include the following: maintain the 90-point club inspection, room time spreadsheets, weekly inventory sheets, laundry tracking, and timecards; complete a weekly inventory of all housekeeping products (10%)
  • Communicate with and attend to any and all guest requests; interface with the front desk to expedite a room's status as needed (2%)
  • Attend Resume meetings each week to remain informed on daily and weekly events and activities taking place throughout the resort, and inform the team members of these events (2%)
  • Properly inspect guest rooms, public spaces, and laundry areas; perform guest room inspection scores according to management program (3%)
  • Continuously train and help room attendants, houseman, laundry, public areas, and supervisor teams improve in the overall guest satisfaction (3%)
  • Enforce standards and rules as laid out by management and operating procedures; comply with Blood-borne Pathogen Exposure Control Policy when applicable and ensure housekeeping team comply with OSHA and safety standards (3%)
  • Assist during peak business periods and be available to cover sick shifts and meal periods (3%)
  • Improve problem areas and assist in implementing corrective measures (10%)
  • Work with Housekeeping Manager and Human Resources to conduct employee coaching and corrective action sessions as needed (5%)
  • Work with Housekeeping Manager to hire staff in all areas of Housekeeping (5%)
  • Schedule all areas of housekeeping and laundry staff (4%)
  • Under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager, oversee the Public Areas and Laundry, and Housekeeping teams' day to day activities (10%)
  • Work with the Housekeeping Manager to order and maintain par levels in all products needed to process laundry and clean rooms/public areas (chemicals, cleaning products, linens, furniture, etc.) (5%)
  • Work with Housekeeping Manager to assist with mid-season and annual employee performance reviews (5%)
  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager to provide budget related information and data to the Director of Hotel Operations for annual budget development (and work with the Housekeeping Manager to manage this budget on an ongoing basis) (10%)
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

This position reports directly to the Housekeeping Manager.

Schedule varies and may include evening shift (2:00pm -10:00pm).

Must have ability to lift 30lbs and be able to stand for 8 hours a day.
