Position Description:

Designs, implements and manages an assigned program. Typical duties can include but are not limited to: Identify funding opportunities, conduct program assessments, prepare program reports, oversee and manage program marketing and communications, manage program databases, supervise program staff, plan research activities, coordinate program events, participate in strategic planning, manage program files, establish program standards and objectives, direct logistical activities to promote the success of programs, develop and implement project timelines and ensures deadlines are met, oversee program budget, ensure goals and objectives of grants are met, assists in proposal writing, comply and analyze program statistics.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Assist with prevention and education efforts at Texas Tech University including a comprehensive set of strategies related to issues of student and campus wellness and safety, sexual misconduct and interpersonal violence, alcohol and drug use, and other topic areas.

  • Coordinate marketing and promotion of department programs and campaigns related to comprehensive prevention education. Create all marketing materials and manage departmental media strategies. Manage the RISE website, RISE social media accounts, and related content.

  • Work in coordination with the department Director, Program Manager(s), and Graduate Student(s) to plan and implement programs and services related to comprehensive prevention education, holistic student well-being.

  • Work in coordination with the department Director to design and implement outreach efforts and presentations related to comprehensive prevention education, holistic student well-being.

  • Work in coordination with the department Director to plan and implement programs, events, and services for student well-being

  • Establish partnerships with departments (such as Tech Activities Board, student organizations, FSL, SCC), campus and community marketing and communications professionals (such as the Office of Communications and Marketing, Daily Toreador, KLBK, KCBD), faculty, staff, student organizations, and community agencies to support comprehensive prevention and education strategies.

  • Work in coordination with the department Director to develop communications to various stakeholders to inform about prevention issues. Analyze departmental data and prepare reports for stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement educational campaigns related to student safety, consent education, social norms, and other prevention strategies.

  • Develop strategies to measure effectiveness of educational campaigns and other promotion strategies.

  • Facilitates one on one motivational interviewing and coaching sessions, as needed.
