Description
We are currently searching for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have solid experience with MS Excel including proficiency in pivot tables and VLOOKUPs and a strong understanding of GAAP. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of monthly financial analysis reports, maintaining department budgets, and generating cost reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review financial statements and reports, ensuring all are accurate and comprehensive.
Assist with the month-end and year-end close process.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Conduct internal audits to assess financial status.
Analyze budget variances and prepare cost reports.
Compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
Proactively stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting rules.
Requirements
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline.
Proven work experience as a staff accountant.
Strong Excel skills including knowledge of pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
Strong understanding of GAAP.
Experience with financial software (QuickBooks, Sage, etc.)
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work against strict deadlines.
Strong analytical skills and ability to problem-solve.
