The Xbox Experiences and Platforms team is home to the engineering work that makes this vision possible, building the developer tools and services that enable game creators to craft incredible experiences, the commerce systems that connect publishers with their audience and help gamers engage with their next favorite games, the platforms on which those games play at their best, and the experiences that turn every screen into an Xbox. 

Our Experiences Engineering team is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to build storefront experiences and bring new end-to-end features to the Xbox app for PC. You will be essential in transforming our storefront experiences to engage non-subscribers effectively, aiming to boost transactions for game purchases, add-ons, and subscriptions. You’ll be charged with the critical task of updating game pages to be more inviting and reflective of the vibrant community that each game offers. This includes modernizing our app and services to enable us to expand the breadth and depth of content that we display, and to rejuvenate the look and feel of these experiences, all while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory standards in a rapidly changing global market.

Responsibilities

  

  • Leading your feature team in researching and deploying an enhanced storefront experience, learning from successful strategies across other Microsoft platforms.  

  • Mentoring developers, aiding in their feature development, and advancing their technical skills.    

  • Contributing to the technical improvements of the Xbox app, emphasizing performance and quality.    

  • Providing strategic insights and direction for future UXplatforms .

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, JavaScript

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience building React or React Native applications.

  • A solid interest for bringing end user experiences to a gaming audience and an understanding of their needs.

  • Experience as a technical leader, driving design and architecture across the product codebase.    

      

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, JavaScript

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, JavaScript

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience building client applications on PC or Mobile.

  • UWP development experience.

  • Experience using real time data signals to monitor and alert on product health.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
