EMSL Analytical, Inc. Laboratory Analyst (Metal) in Long Island City, New York
EMSL is currently seeking a Full Time Laboratory Analyst (Metals) in Long Island City, NY. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees. Experienced analysts are welcomed to apply.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Preparation and digestion of environmental lead samples: paint, soil, wipes and cassettes by Flame AA Preparation and analysis of samples using ICP Knowledge of laboratory safety and maintaining proper QC protocols Clerical duties including report generation and data entry of sample receipt Cleaning and Maintenance of lab equipment Cross train in other lab departments as needed
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Science a plus, chemistry preferred One to two years' experience working in a lab setting with FLAA and/or ICP is a plus but not required Candidate must be able to distinguish between colors in order to perform analysis Able to work independently or with a team Able to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize assignments Must have good communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills
Available Shift: Monday to Friday 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Training to start will be Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
