For Takeda UK we are looking for a

Finance Business Partner

in a permanent position/ full time at the Paddington location.

The Finance Business Partner acts as the strategic partner to the UK & Ireland MCO and FP&A Lead providing financial support on all matters with a particular focusing on:

  • Decision Support -providing proactive and strategic data- driven analysis to drive business performance.

  • High quality financial analysis and modelling, including future-oriented risk and opportunities assessment.

  • Performance Management, looking across multiple aspects of P&L (Revenue, Opex, headcounts etc.)

  • Support to BU/Function and individual managers regarding financial processes (Mid-range Plan, Long-tern plan, Brand Plan)

  • Support and advice in areas of compliance with financial requirements (IFRS and SOX)

Your tasks in detail:

  • Providing strategic financial input and leadership to the UK & Ireland to drive business performance and ensure appropriate return on investment for the business units and/or functions assigned. Business units and functions requiring support will be assigned.

  • Focusing on adding value for the business by influencing decisions and identifying opportunities to invest, saving cost, avoiding / mitigating risks, forecasting future business results, establishing and interpreting leading indicators.

  • Identifying and explaining material budget vs actual variances, assessing the impact of variances on the financial forecast

  • Preparing a summary financial package for review with the BU/Functions Heads

  • Lead the preparation of the annual budget and mid and long-range forecast (MRP/MYC/LRF) for the BU/Functions

  • Prepare journal entries for the topics related to the responsible business areas under supervision of UK Controller

  • Ensure local business is conducted in compliance with local laws/regulations and corporate SOPs as well as Takeda´s Code of Conduct

  • Acting as the finance point of contact for the BU/Functions Heads, managing all financial requests and communicating these within the multiple teams across UK & Ireland. Working together with other FP&A to collect, consolidate and verify input and clearly communicate back to the FP&A Lead and commercial leaders.

  • As a member of the Business Unit Team the individual will need to play an active role in shaping the direction of the leading overall strategy / capability development and helping to make trade-off decisions when required at the Business Unit level.

Your profile:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting or equivalent

  • CPA or equivalent preferred

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Finance Planning and Analysis

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook / Excel / PowerPoint / Word)

  • Knowledge of the health care environment and the broader pharmaceutical industry preferred.

  • Familiar with SAP (FI and COPA), IBM Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) and Planning Analytics for Excel (PAX)

  • Experience in Power BI is preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and be managed on a hybrid basis

  • Excellent data- driven analytical skills and attention to detail to make sound financial decisions.

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage conflicting demands and appropriately prioritize.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary for daily interaction with senior management, both within the country and across global corporate functions

  • Ability to solve problems and think creatively – capacity to provide pragmatic solutions and have the drive and leadership to implement ideas through to successful conclusion
