We are looking for an Assistant Hansom Lounge and IRD Manager who is passionate about food and people, someone who will work well within a dynamic and fast paced lounge and bar environment.

Position Summary:

Under the general guidance of the Hansom and In Room Dining Manager, you will be assisting in coordinating and directing all aspects of The Hansom and IRD operations, including all meal periods throughout the day, ensuring development and delivery of all food and beverage offerings, and an active role in lounge reservations, with a predominant focus towards Room Service. You will be responsible for the Hansom and IRD and operations, alongside all other responsibilities in these departments (recruitment, P&L, scheduling cost control, forecasting, people development and coaching, performance reviews/management) and ability to not only manage but also undertake any operations role as the business requires.

Responsibilities: Here's what your journey with us entails

  • Work with the Hansom and IRD Manager on seasonal menu changes for both food and beverage.

  • Ensure that your own knowledge of food, beverage, design, people and local area is simply a must with an understanding of the overall hotel operation being essential for this role to understand the part you play in the wider guest experience.

  • Monitor that all spec bibles are updated and maintained on a regular basis.

  • Develop and maintain a system of quality control to ensure that all food and beverage served is of the highest standard.

  • Promote creativity and innovation within your managers and supervisors and the wider team, holding regular product development meetings. The holding of Monthly departmental meetings and 1:1’s is essential.

  • You must be fluent in the venue’s Brand Standard Audit process and have a great knowledge of the various components of this audit.

  • Product (food & beverage), menu, operational, food hygiene, service knowledge is essential, and you are responsible for ensuring your team members also have this knowledge.

  • Full knowledge of Food Allergens is critical.

  • Knowledge of the overall hotel operations is essential for this role to understand the part you play in the wider guest experience.

  • You must be proactive in learning new F&B trends, skills, beverage items and bringing ideas to the table to continue drive creativity in our venues.

  • Our guests must receive a consistent level of service the first, second and fifth time they visit any of our F&B outlets – you are responsible for ensuring the consistency through training, coaching and regularly meeting with your team.

  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Hygiene (sanitation, cleanliness).

  • Maintain an exceptionally high standard of five-star luxury lifestyle service within The Hansom and IRD.

  • Collaborate with The Hansom and IRD Manager regarding new ideas in the business to grow revenue, reduce costs and move the service and product forward to contest in a competitive marketplace.

  • Attitude, grooming standard, body language and tone need to be positive, supportive and on brand at all times.

  • Ensure that all Health and Safety measures are in place for your departments and that the business is compliant.

  • Monitor and maintain proper inventory to ensure it is in line with budgeted cost of sales with the department managers.

  • Support all other revenue centres in the hotel such as the other F&B outlets, Rooms and Events. You are also expected to carry out other duties that may be required to ensure the F&B and overall hotel operation is properly maintained to provide a total guest experience.

  • To ensure that all areas that compliant with legal aspects of their relevant department such as but not subject to Premises license, weights and measure act.

  • You must adhere to and manage the adherence by others to all guidelines provided in relation to cleaning, sanitising and returning to usage of all tables, chairs and equipment to ensure compliance with company guidelines.

  • You must wear and ensure all associates on shift wear appropriate PPE (as provided by the hotel) at all times and as directed when on property. This can include face masks and gloves and any other PPE as deemed appropriate or necessary at the discretion of the company.

  • Under the Hansom and IRD Manager’s guidance your focus is driving the successful financial performance of Hansom and IRD. You are competent with P&L’s, forecasting and monitoring operations to ensure profitability. Preparation of monthly critiques across the areas of responsibility is key and accurate forecasting also.

  • Under the Hansom and IRD Manager’s guidance you should make sure to check all cash handling systems and the Symphony POS system, ensuring compliance and accuracy at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar role

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.

  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of successfully leading and motivating teams.

  • Passion for delivering excellence in customer service.

  • L3 Food Safety and Hygiene is essential.

  • Personal License holder is desirable.
