We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Performance Materials team in Livonia, MI.

As a Quality Assurance Tech for our Performance Materials business unit, you will build a meaningful career while supporting BASF Livonia’s batch manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing in process and final quality assurance testing activities in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner.

**Role will be filled commensurate with experience.

During your straight 8 hour night shift as a Quality Assurance Technician, you will

  • Perform required testing on raw materials, in-process batch samples and finished goods to determine ifproduct specifications are met.

  • Monitor and review instrument controls using routine instrument checks through calibration, verification, and/or validation, including operating auxiliary lab equipment (Band Saw, Water Baths, Centrifuge, etc.) as required to prepare and test batch performance against specifications.

  • Modify and validate work procedures as required to ensure proper documentation of lab activities; inclusive of logbooks, databases, check sheets, worksheets, etc.

  • Establish proficiency in and maintains daily input of data management systems such as SAP QM for purposes of COA generation, quality release, root cause analysis, NCM investigations and trend reporting

  • Work closely with other lab shift technicians and operations to perform lab testing requirements and communicate results

  • Actively participate in EHS initiatives and compliance, including adherence to established safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

If you...

  • Have a 4-Year technical degree in a scientific discipline; or a high school education with a minimum of 3 - 5 years in a QA/Testing lab experience or 7+ years in a production role of a Urethane Systems batch plant.

  • Have analytical and data analysis skills and are proficient in MSWord/Excel

  • Are willing to work midnight shift and provide flexible coverage outside of these hours as needed

  • Have SAP Quality Management (QM) System and ISO 9001 compliance experience this would be a plus.
