POSITION PURPOSE

Perform daily cash balancing between general ledger and bank for all non-insurance cash for all Trinity Hospitals and Medical Group revenue received in centralized bank account. Performs daily cash posting reconciliation to ensure cash is balanced and reconciled to bank and three-way match to the TogetherCare (Epic) posting process. Works to ensure internal controls and cash is balanced to meet the organization goals for stewardship of resources and internal controls and to ensure sound financial practices. This position works closely with the Manager Cash Reconciliations, and coordinates work with the Director Cash Application and Customer Service in the PBS responsible for the balancing of cash to the TogetherCare (EPIC) accounts receivable trial balance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Trinity Health in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions.

Utilizes computerized accounting software programs (PeopleSoft General Ledger, Microsoft Excel, and TogetherCare (Epic)) to perform duties and responsibilities.

Reconcile day-to-day activities of incoming cash payments to patient pay non-insurance account and balances bank and general ledger in order to achieve strong internal controls over cash and general ledger balances.

Prepares supporting schedules in Excel utilizing pivot tables, v-lookups, and macros as necessary.

Conduct special projects as requested by management, including analysis of historical data and trends.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess a working knowledge of general accepted accounting principles and practices as normally obtained through a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least two (2) years of general accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with computerized general ledger is required. PeopleSoft experience is preferred.

Exemplary skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, V-lookups, and basic macros.

Must possess the ability to handle concurrent work assignments and manage multiple priorities on a routine basis.

Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate directly, openly, and effectively with both internal and external customers.

Must possess flexibility to work on special projects while completing routine tasks and meet established deadlines.

Must possess ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment, as well as independently.
