Production Manager

Join our client who is a Livingston machinery manufacturer as Production Manager. This is a key position helping run a growing equipment manufacturer with sales both nationally and internationally. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with the right skill set including: knowledge of machine shop practice and manufacturing, excellent scheduling and follow up capability, leadership skills, excellent people and communication skills along with a comfort with manufacturing computer software. We are looking for an individual who is comfortable in a leadership position with a strong manufacturing background.

The position entails these activities

* Supervise all Production phases to assure high productivity and on time deliveries


* Plan Production Schedule to meet shipping dates and volume needs

* Review Drawings and determine best manufacturing method


* Interface with engineering dept. to assure drawings are manufacturable


* Plan Inventory levels and re-order points


* Determine best methods to manufacture parts and routing


* Decide on Make/Buy decisions


* Use manufacturing software for scheduling, costing and loading

* Work closely with company president to assure manufacturing is in accordance with company plans and requirements.

* Find and qualify vendors and oversee their quality


* Estimating


* Work with Shop Foreman and Purchasing and other Production Personnel


* Work with sales department to meet their sales needs
