Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity based in Livermore, California. This role centers around the function of a Purchasing Agent, contributing to our team within the telecom industry. The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced environment, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing purchasing activities.

Responsibilities:
• Managing procurement processes, including the preparation and processing of purchase orders
• Conducting purchasing activities, ensuring all purchases are made in accordance with company policy
• Maintaining relationships with vendors, negotiating terms and prices as necessary
• Overseeing the receipt of purchased materials, verifying packing slips, and ensuring accurate inventory forecasting
• Collaborating with other departments to identify and fulfill purchasing needs
• Regularly reviewing performance of vendors, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliveries
• Conducting market research to identify potential new vendors and suppliers
• Ensuring all purchasing activities align with internal policies and regulations
• Coordinating with the finance team to ensure timely payments to vendors
• Continually seeking opportunities for process improvements within the purchasing function.
Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a relevant role
• Proficient in managing purchasing activities
• Experienced in preparing and managing Purchase Orders
• Skilled in purchasing materials as per the organization's requirements
• Ability to manage vendor relationships effectively
• Knowledge of packing slip procedures
• Experience in inventory forecasting and planning for future needs
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in using computer software related to purchasing and inventory management.
