Position Summary

Responsible for all aspects related to Electricity, Automation, Process Control, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and the Factory Automation System (FAS) infrastructure, applications and resources according to Nestlé corporate strategies, local codes and laws. The responsibility includes for Project management, full compliance enforcement, product and process mastership, operational support, training and building of E&A team.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supervise the plans and objectives of the electrical supply, distribution, automation layer, process control and MES as outlined in the Nestlé Engineering Excellence master document.

  • Implement work processes, procedures and technical resources relating to the E&A team providing the appropriate project management and CAPEX budget.

  • Assess and implement vital solutions in the areas of risk management, maintenance and improvements and strategies for electricity, controls and MES.

  • Ensure that all personnel performing electricity or control related activities must be legally trained and certified.

  • Ensure compliance with all Nestlé and government regulatory requirements.

  • Always ensure safe installations and operations through accurate design, protection systems, procedures and training.

  • Prioritize and drive the maintenance of the E&A and control equipment in accordance with the Nestlé Maintenance Strategy and guidelines.

  • Maintain liaisons with other functional groups to provide vital support and expertise to meet business requirements.

  • Develop and implement maintenance and inspection plans to ensure reliability, sustainability and security of E&A distribution and infrastructure.

  • Supervise plant and equipment to ensure efficient operation and reduction of planned and unplanned downtime.

  • Coordinate with Production, Quality Management and Engineering to resolve any E&A issues and electrical maintenance and project work by electricians and contractors.

  • Facilitate the introduction and implementation of new technologies in coordination with group engineering and PTC engineering.

  • Initiate and drive continuous improvement in electricity and automation with the aim of achieving optimized plant performance.

  • Develop and implement strategy for MES, following Group Engineering standards and Nestlé overall direction.

  • Support the existing and future activities related to MES, FAS, and FFMW to ensure proper design, installation, support, and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent, preferably electrical engineering.

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the field of electricity and Automation in a manufacturing facility.

  • In-depth knowledge of electricity, automation, instrumentation, industrial networks, low, medium and high voltage installations.

  • Good knowledge of local electrical codes and standards, Instrumentation and Process Control Systems.

  • Solid understanding of automation systems and equipment (HMIs, PLCs, etc.).

  • Knowledge of food processing operations and technology MES, manufacturing IT, industrial networks and applications.

Skills:

  • Understands and/or can learn the role and responsibilities of the position, including:

  • Read/Write PLC programs with Rockwell Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000.

  • TPM: AM, EM, and /or PM Pillar experience.

  • CAPEX budgeting and preparation.

  • Understanding of base financial business drivers such as internal rate of return, net present value, ROIC, etc.
