Navistar, Inc. Wholesale Senior Credit Consultant in Lisle, Illinois

Position Overview

Navistar has a great opportunity for a Wholesale Senior Credit Consultant – Navistar Financial Corporation.

Navistar Financial Corporation provides financing of new and used trucks, buses, and tractors for Navistar’s International brand truck dealers, IC Bus dealers, and customers who purchase Navistar products.

The Wholesale Senior Credit Consultant will be responsible for performing complete, accurate, and thorough credit underwriting on floor plan credit facilities for Navistar’s International Truck and IC Bus dealerships.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to prioritize assigned workload and complete credit reviews by assigned due dates.

  • Perform robust financial analysis on assigned dealerships which includes in depth analysis of financial statements, financial trends, and dealer business model.

  • Understand NFC’s dealer risk rating model and apply the principles to all assigned dealers.

  • Make recommendations regarding credit decisions to NFC Credit Management.

  • Present credit transactions to NFC Credit Management and Senior Credit Committee.

  • Communicate credit decisions to internal and external parties.

  • Build and establish strong relationships with assigned dealerships.

  • Correspond with other departments such as NFC Sales, Navistar Dealer Operations, NFC Operations, and NFC Audit teams.

  • Collect file maintenance data such as financial statements, supplemental forms, and other required data.

  • Collect and gather standard due diligence and KYC information.

  • Review documentation to ensure all required documents are complete and accurate.

  • Learn and understand the history of the relationship between assigned dealerships and NFC.

  • Work closely with NFC Audit team to maintain awareness of any potential audit issues.

  • Assessing credit risk associated with wholesale lending and floorplan financing activities and establishment of proper credit limit.

  • Monitor ongoing floor plan balance exposure of assigned dealers to ensure it does not exceed approved limits.

  • Develop risk mitigation strategies of assigned dealers if financial concerns are present.

  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and implementing best practices in credit risk management.

  • Responsible for ensuring perfection of Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) fillings related to floorplan financing transactions.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 5 years of accounting or finance experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 3 years of accounting or finance experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • At least 8 years of accounting or finance experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills

  • 8+ years of credit underwriting experience on exposures in excess of $5 million, preferably in transportation sector.

  • Expertise in financial statement analysis, including ratio and trend analysis.

  • Strong analytical skills, business writing skills and proficiency with software programs including MS Office products.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

  • Strong understanding of legal documents and related UCC perfection in equipment finance industry

  • Ability to effectively communicate and deliver presentations to C-level executives.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with both internal colleagues and external dealers and customers.
