Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join its team. This position is located in Linthicum, Maryland.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of electrical equipment and associated electronic and non-electronic controls. Repair and maintain plant facilities and equipment such as electronic and pneumatic control units, industrial furnaces, environmental control equipment, RF generators, motor-generator sets, automatic water treating and monitoring systems, boiler controls, chillers, air compressors-dryers, high voltage sub-stations, etc..

WORKING PROCEDURE AND/OR RESPONSIBILITY ASSIGNED:

PERFORM WORK OF EQUAL OR LOWER SKILL LEVEL AS REQUIRED.

Perform a variety of maintenance tasks requiring considerable skill and initiative. These tasks are typified by, but not limited to, the following tasks:

Install, maintain, diagnose malfunctions and repair electrical equipment and associated electronic or non-electronic controls. Plan and layout work as necessary to conform with the National Electrical Code and local electrical codes

Repair and maintain plant facilities and equipment such as electronic and pneumatic control units, industrial furnaces, environmental control equipment, RF generators, motor-generator sets, automatic water treating and monitoring systems, boiler controls, chillers, air compressor-dryers, high voltage sub-stations, etc.

Diagnose malfunctions of plant equipment by interpreting drawings, sketches, and manufacturer’s specifications/operation manuals. Adjust, disassemble and/or repair equipment utilizing such tools as ammeters, voltmeters, records, gas detectors, tube checkers, oscilloscopes, etc. Maintain primary records and logs on equipment performance and repairs.

Modify facilities and/or equipment as necessary in order to make electrical connections. Assist other maintenance personnel in installing, constructing, modifying or repairing facility structures, pipes, wires, equipment, system components, etc.

Obtain, deliver and move material, tools and equipment from one location to another, utilizing appropriate material handling equipment such as company vehicles, fork trucks, hand arts, etc. as required. Perform a variety of routine maintenance functions such as cleaning equipment and facilities, painting, grounds work, lubricating, moving and relocating equipment and furnishings, changing/installing lamps and filters, receiving fuel oil deliveries, sampling outfalls, performing chemical treatment of water systems, visually inspecting equipment and facilities, working on ladders/scaffolding, rigging and the like.

Utilize computerized data management systems as necessary to maintain records on equipment preventive maintenance and repairs. Report any problems or unsafe conditions to supervision. Perform other miscellaneous duties which may fall within the scope of this position.

This is an SEA Union represented position.

This is a 2nd Shift position.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

High School graduate or equivalent. Completion of an approved four (4) year electrical apprenticeship program. Must meet applicable governmental licensing requirements.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

Two (2) years industrial electrical/electronics maintenance experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties assigned under this position.
