Insight Global Production Engineer in Liberty, North Carolina

Job Description

A top automotive client in the area is looking for 5 Production Engineers to join the Powertrain Engineering team and the primary responsibility of this position is to prepare and implement Battery Production lines to support new model launches at the battery plant. Reporting to the Engineering Manager at the satellite office in Liberty, NC, the person in this role will support the Powertrain Battery PE department's objective to execute Capital Projects from planning through Start of Production (SOP). In the short-term, planning, process evaluation and validation will occur at other locations until the primary facility is up and functional in 2025. The day-to-day responsibilities are as listed below.

Developing process plans for battery production lines within the Powertrain department with direct support from the manager.

Directly supporting other engineers / technicians through the lifecycle of the project

Leading the cost planning, budget creation, machine specification, procurement, validation, installation, pre-productions trials and launch of machining or assembly battery production lines.

Creating and maintaining detailed schedule and budget for assigned area.

Participate in cross functional working groups across the local facility and corporate departments to achieve project goals

Skills and Requirements

5+ years' experience in manufacturing automation (automotive, aviation, high-volume CPG, Tobacco, etc.)

5+ years' experience in creating and implementing processes in a manufacturing environment (budget, schedule, trials, run off, etc.)

5+ years' experience planning and implementing mass production support for high volume production lines (more thank 9k capacity per month)

Proficiency in reading and modifying drawings and layouts Automotive Industry experience

Ability to travel 50-75% of the time until machinery arrival begins

Capital Project Experience

3+ years' experience in manufacturing for assembly, machining, paint, body weld or stamping null
