Job Summary | This position will provide administrative support to the academic department and chair of Plant & Soil Sciences. Responsibilities to include: • Greet and provide office coverage for the department’s main business office. • Receive and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing departmental mail. Serve as FedEx contact. • Make vehicle and meeting room reservations. Assist with accommodations for visitors, conferences and special events. • Support for faculty/staff/students and general office support including fielding phone calls, submitting work orders for building maintenance, work requests for copier problems, key distribution and maintaining key log, distributing parking passes, and managing supply inventory. • Serve as proxy for department chair to approve travel and expense reports, travel authorizations, personal vehicle authorizations, and some procard purchases. • Assist business officer with monthly account reconciliation. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Experience working in an office setting. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong time management and organizational skills. Dependability and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and maintain workflow in a community office environment where there may be frequent interruptions. Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with UK systems such as SAP and Concur would be a plus. |
