We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our client in Lexington, Kentucky. This role is based in the thoroughbred industry and will involve meticulous management of financial records and accounts, as well as ensuring accurate and efficient processing of customer applications.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage Accounts Payable and provide assistance with Accounts Receivable
• Perform diligent monthly account reconciliations
• Assist with the monthly closing process for the consolidated enterprise, including the preparation and posting of standard and non-standard journal entries
• Maintain Fixed Asset maintenance and reporting
• Prepare monthly close for three non-profit foundations
• Assist with the Annual Audit and prepare various financial reports and analysis as needed
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
• Assist with the preparation of all sales and use tax returns
• Perform other related duties as assigned in line with maintaining the organization’s financial health.
Requirements • Job Title: Staff Accountant
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related field
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger operations
• Ability to perform Journal Entries
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in using NetSuite software
• Experience with Oracle financial software
• Proficiency in QuickBooks
• Experience with SAP financial software
