BFS Group LLC Senior Manager Estimating & Pricing General Administrative in Lexington, Kentucky

PURPOSE

Responsible for managing the people, work, and processes of the Estimating (Sales Support) Department. Manages daily pricing activities in cooperation with sales management and supply chain. Maximizes estimating resources thru daily and long term planning. Implements new policies and procedures to further new initiatives. Maintains highest standards of integrity and accuracy throughout entire bidding process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the estimators and estimating duties. Leads the estimating process to ensure that processes and work results meet/exceed company standards.
  • Coordinates with sales management and supply chain to execute sales strategies via market-focused pricing and sourcing.
  • Solicits additional feedback from sales management, supply chain, sales, and other departments to improve performance and processes.
  • Distributes and coordinates work between multiple estimating locations. Leverages estimating resources by sharing work and capacity regionally as needed.
  • Verifies that the entire estimating department performs in accordance within the established standards for all functions of lumber frame estimating.
  • Travels as necessary to interface with multiple departments.
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises the Estimating Department across various locations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school (Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred) and 6-8 years of directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous managerial experience required.

COMPETENCIES

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of algebraic theory and plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills: Must be proficient in all Windows Office programs. Must possess expert-level AS400 program knowledge.

Other Qualifications: Knowledge of wood frame construction. Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities.
