Required Education
MS or equivalent terminal degree in industrial design, product design, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related discipline. Will also consider candidates with Bachelor degree with relevant professional experience.
Required Related Experience
- Demonstrated application of ergonomic principles to development of successful products
- Experience with test design to gather ergonomic data to inform product development

Job Summary
The Department of Product Design seeks applicants for a part-time faculty position to teach PRD 371, Ergonomics. This 1-credit course, delivered to Product Design and Biomedical Engineering students, introduces a range of human factors and ergonomics-related concepts and case studies, highlighting the impacts of design decisions on the equipment people use, the environments in which they function, and the jobs they perform.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- Strong understanding of, and ability to convey, human factors and ergonomic considerations for design
- Access to relevant case studies of applied human factors and ergonomics concepts
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to utilize the University’s course management system, Canvas
