Job Position
The dishwasher is responsible for cleaning dishes, silverware, glassware, and kitchen utensils, maintaining a clean work environment, and supporting the kitchen staff in a fast-paced setting. This role requires attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Dishwasher
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils by hand or use commercial dishwashing equipment.-
· Ensure all items are properly sanitized and free of food residue.
· Return clean dishes and utensils to the appropriate storage areas.
· Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, counters, and sinks.
· Clean dishwashing equipment regularly to ensure it operates efficiently.
· Monitor and manage detergent and cleaning supplies, ensuring that stocks are maintained.
· Assist in the preparation and organization of cooking utensils and equipment.
· Help kitchen staff with food prep or clean-up as needed during busy times.
· Take out the trash and recycling, ensuring that waste is properly sorted and disposed of.
· Help with organizing and cleaning the garbage area as required.
· Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
· Report any equipment malfunctions or hazards to management.
Additional Duties
· Assume other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager and Cook Manager.
