Central Maine Medical Center Manager Accounts Payable in Lewiston, Maine

Position Summary: The Accounts Payable (AP) Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense reports, etc. The AP Supervisor provides leadership and direction for a team of staff that are responsible for performing highly transactional and repetitive processes. The AP Supervisor is also responsible for training staff on new procedures, evaluating staff and providing direction and ongoing support to all staff members. The AP Supervisor will serve as a liaison to the care centers, vendors and others regarding accounts payable matters.Essential Functions:• Oversees and directs the work of a small team of AP staff and ensures tasks are appropriately allocated and assigned• Ensures the timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, etc.• Responds to calls and inquiries from care centers and vendors• Work closely with other business units, such as procurement, accounting, tax, etc.• Develops and/or assists with the creation and modification of AP job aides, desktop procedures, and any other training materials• Prepares and reviews reports as instructed by management, including but not limited to, daily transactional tracking reports, month-end closing reports, AP aging reports, etc.• Develops and maintains a strong knowledge of the AP software• Leads and/or assists with month-end close processes and procedures• Assists with internal and external audit requests as directed• Sets and meets objectives based on department and/or company goals• Performs new employee staff training. Train existing team members on new/existing procedures• Monitors and evaluates employee performance. Holds employees accountable for the attainment of defined goals and objectives and develops employees through coaching, mentoring, and formal/on the job training and development opportunities• Assumes other duties as assignedQualifications Required:• Five years’ experience in accounts payable and supervisory experience required.• Strong data entry skills with emphasis on numeric data entry and ability to type 40-50 wpm with a high level of accuracy.• Ability to use standard office equipment to include adding machines, copiers, fax machines, etc.• Excellent interpersonal skills including customer service skills when responding to questions and other inquiries from internal or external customers, vendors, and service providers.• Strong knowledge of Excel.• Must be self-directed and need minimal supervision.• College Degree in Business Management or related field preferred.
