Idaho Transportation Department has a career opportunity for an IT Operation and Support Analyst II at our District 2 Headquarters, located in Lewiston. This position will provide Tier 2 and 3-level technical support to ITD Districts in the Northern Idaho Region. Responsibilities include technical leadership of large-scale statewide efforts, data collection and analysis, technical mentorship and documentation, and standardization of IT processes/procedures/hardware and software.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with others to plan and execute various statewide initiatives and technical projects;

  • Standardize IT process and Software/Hardware;

  • Gather various data through the utilization of several tools;

  • Analyze data and format it into understandable metrics for making decisions or presentations;

  • Research, document, and improve processes and procedures to provide better support to internal and external customers;

  • Provide support and troubleshooting for complex issues;

  • Provide guidance, support, and mentoring to support analysts in a team environment;

  • Provide training to District IT and other ETS employees on the use of new and existing tools;

  • Act as backup support for Video Teleconference services.

Minimum Qualifications: **You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position.   • Considerable knowledge of computer trends, software, capabilities, and terminology.Typically met by an applicable four-year degree or advanced IT certifications OR at least three years of work experience in a lead role where supporting computer systems, software and IT services was a predominant duty of the job.

  • Computer hardware and software installation and troubleshooting- Typically met by an applicable four-year degree or advanced IT certifications OR at least three years of work experience in a lead role where installing and troubleshooting computer hardware and software was a predominant duty of the job.

  • Experience independently installing, upgrading, and maintaining one or more computer networks including computers, server hardware and software- Typically met by at least two years of work experience independently installing, upgrading, and maintaining one or more computer networks including computers, server hardware and software.

  • Working with network protocols such as IP address schemas, DNS, DHCP, and directory services;Independently evaluating and resolving computer, system, and user problems including application operations, hardware malfunctions, and telecommunications problems -

  • Independently evaluating and defining customer/system needs and recommending and implementing new IT solutions as well as recommending the installation and use of applications and system software.Typically met by at least two years of work experience independently evaluating and defining customer/system needs and recommending and implementing new IT solutions as well as recommending the installation and use of applications and system software.

  • Independently evaluating and resolving computer, system, and user problems including application operations, hardware malfunctions, and telecommunications problems- Typically met by at least two years of work experience independently evaluating and resolving computer, system, and user problems including application operations, hardware malfunctions, and telecommunications problems.

  • Leading technical teams or projects- Typically met by at least one year of work experience leading technical teams or projects.
