Waste Connections Lead Hand - MRF in Lethbridge, Alberta

Our Lead Hand in the MRF must embody our Core Values and share them with all members of the Lethbridge team. The Lead hand works with the MRF Manager to ensure everyone is following our policies and procedures and provides leadership, support, and mentorship not only to new MRF employees, but also the existing ones.
Shift: Monday to Friday - 7:00am start time.
Rate: $20.00 - $25.00/hourly
Responsibilities
Certified on all MRF equipment and clearly understands all safety policies related to the MRF.
Provide exceptional training and follow-up coaching and support to all new MRF employees, ensuring that all safety guidelines for the company are being followed.
Be familiar with all plant operations at every job (i.e. sorter and operators).
Regularly deliver and reinforce the message of our Core Values to all employees throughout the day.
Act as back up for morning safety tailgate meetings.
Remain up to date on company policy updates and safety bulletins.
Collaborate with maintenance and operations departments as required throughout the day.
Facilitate the development and maintenance of behaviors, attitudes and a culture that supports the organization's objective of becoming one of the industry leaders in health and safety performance.
Requirements
Solid understanding of the daily operations of the MRF.
Safety mindset and proven safety record.
Effective communication skills to convey information to employees.
Ability to provide leadership that aligns with our values when the MRF manager is away.
Heavy Equipment experience
Experience in a supervisory capacity
