Job Description

PCG is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant II for its Corporate Accounting operations based in Lenexa, KS . This individual will:

  • Reconcile sub-ledger accounts to general ledger for all companies.

  • Participate in month-end close process.

  • Journal entries and other general accounting.

  • Research and analytical problem solving.

  • Be detail oriented, reliable, and well organized.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

  • Respond to Branch inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

  • Prepare summary financial information and ad hoc reporting to management as needed.

  • Possess good computer skills and demonstrate the ability to learn new computer functionality.

  • Work well with others through all methods of communication.

  • External audit assistance and preparation of schedules.

  • Special projects as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required

  • At least 3 years of experience in Accounting

  • Must possess advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel(pivot tables, V look-ups, formulas, etc.)

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Self-starter who can effectively prioritize workload

  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced work environment

  • Experience working in a high-volume accounting environment

  • Strong ability to think critically and troubleshoot issues

  • Displays resourcefulness and ability to locate information independently

Preferred Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in public accounting preferred

  • CPA preferred

  • Construction industry experience preferred

  • Experience with fixed asset accounting preferred

  • Experience with inventory accounting preferred

  • Local to the Kansas City Metro Area
