As Kiewit's Commissioning & Startup ( CSU) Technical Services Manager , you’ll play a pivotal role in commissioning planning activities, ensuring seamless transitions from the Front-End Loading (FEL) phase through Detailed Design for Mineral Processing.

Your expertise spans steady state operability, dynamic conditions, and a world of minerals. Dive into a fascinating realm that includes Lithium, Gold, Silver, Copper, Soda Ash, and Rare Earth elements. As a CSU Technical Services Manager, you’ll sponsor CSU estimates, schedules, and deliverables while shaping operating philosophies and more.

And don’t forget the art of man-hour estimates! You’ll collaborate closely with our Proposal Manager and Director of Commissioning to shape our future projects.

Our rapidly growing Industrial Engineering team, which includes process, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, architectural, geotechnical, and civil disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Food & Beverage, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, Pulp and Paper, Steel & Aluminum, Industrial Buildings, and Industrial Energy, Water and Utilities.

This position is based out of Lenexa, KS. Opportunities for flexible work are available.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in PFD / P&ID Reviews, Technical / Hazard Reviews, Factory Acceptance Tests, Model Reviews, and Project Meetings for mineral processing.

  • Develops and writes Training Programs, Operating Philosophies, Basic Engineering Package Operating Manuals, Operating Instructions Manuals (to OSHA Standards if required), Utilities / Off-sites Manuals (to OSHA Standards if required), Laboratory Manuals / Laboratory Equipment Specifications, Pre-commissioning / Commissioning Procedures, Maintenance Manuals, Chemical Cleaning Documents, and Tie-In Procedures.

  • Creates Lubrication Schedules, Systems Priority / Turnover Identification Packages, and Man-hour Estimates for new proposals.

  • Manages scheduling for CSU Technical Services staff, including issuing dates for estimates, operating philosophies, manuals, safety documents, and more.

Qualifications

  • Should possess a Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline OR have 20 years of equivalent work experience and be considered a technical expert in Commissioning and Startup and one or more of the Industrial markets.

  • At least 20 years of CSU and/or Design experience within the market segment.

  • Knowledge of internal engineering systems and tools.

  • Knowledge of PC, Windows, Office Software and IT implementation background.

  • Up to 50% travel may be required.
