Job Description Commercial Construction Analyst: As a Commercial Construction Analyst, you will virtually model commercial buildings into actual calculations using take-offs, research, and commercial construction experience. This will require testing and analyzing these assumptions to ensure accuracy in calculations that reflect current construction practices. This position also requires hands-on research of specific commercial structures to determine the type of building construction from limited resources. Requires writing concise written reports often explaining construction terms and processes to others.

Principal Responsibilities and Essential Duties: * Research, validate, and make recommendations to improve products to management. * Research specific properties, per customer or management request, and create a comparison valuation with explanation using in house tools. * Identify and compare 3rd party resources to obtain accurate construction cost information. * Specialty research, construction research, or other-related projects as assigned. * Analyze valuations for accuracy. * Stay up to date on commercial construction trends and material changes. Qualifications * BS Degree in Construction Management is preferred. * A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in the construction field, including 3 years' experience as a superintendent or project manager in the total (ground-up) construction of commercial structures. * Ability to perform detailed labor and material take-offs for all trades using digital blueprints in conjunction with take-off software (PlanSwift). * A knowledge of Verisk estimating products is preferred. * Experience in working with Microsoft Excel, with a strong aptitude for creating formulas and calculations. * In-depth knowledge of construction mathematics with the ability to write formulas for them using advanced algebra in Microsoft Excel. * Must be a motivated, self-starter, and able to work with minimal supervision. * Able to present ideas clearly and concisely to individuals and groups. * Able to explain construction terms and processes. * Extreme attention to detail is a must. * Good communication skills both oral and written. * Ability to establish and measure personal goals. * A working knowledge of Microsoft Office products Additional Information For over 50 years, Verisk has been the leading data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry by delivering value to our clients through expertise and scale.
