Actalent Medical Assistant in LEES SUMMIT, Missouri

Medical Assistant (MA) - Multiple Openings - Family Care & Women's Health

Monday - Friday | 8am - 5pm

Description:

As a Medical Assistant, you will perform a variety of tasks to support the clinic’s operations and enhance patient care. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, handling refill requests, managing patient calls (both incoming and outbound), and charting using eClinicalWorks. Phlebotomy duties are minimal but the ability to perform this task is required. You will support healthcare providers, managing dynamic patient loads and ensuring efficient and effective care delivery:

  • Patient Vitals:

  • Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient information in electronic health records (EHR).

  • Medical History:

  • Assist patients in completing medical history forms.

  • Update and maintain patient records with relevant medical information.

  • Exam Room Preparation:

  • Clean and stock exam rooms before and after patient visits.

  • Ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are readily available for providers.

  • Patient Chart Preparation:

  • Prepare patient charts for scheduled appointments.

  • Organize and review relevant medical documents, test results, and imaging reports.

  • Document Management:

  • Scan and upload patient documents into the EHR system.

  • Maintain accurate and organized patient files.

  • Radiology Scheduling:

  • Coordinate radiology testing appointments for patients.

  • Communicate with imaging centers and patients to ensure timely scheduling.

  • Records Retrieval:

  • Obtain necessary medical records and films for providers to review during appointments.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare facilities to collect relevant information.

  • Flexibility and Adaptability:

  • Adapt to changing workflows and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or willing to become certified in 6 months of employment.

  • 3+ months of Medical Assistant experience in a physician's clinic.

  • Prior OB or Family Care experience or working in a surgical clinic or externship.
