WSP USA Inc.Job Title: Assistant Consultant, Traffic EngineerLocation: 2000 Lenox Dr, 3rd Floor, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648Duties: Perform field data collection, including traffic counts, travel speed studies and existing condition inventory, for traffic engineering-related projects and tasks. Perform design calculations, cost estimates, quantity takeoffs and various analysis using traffic engineering software to inform design decisions. Prepare traffic sign panel designs using GuidSIGN software. Perform design of signing, pavement markings, traffic signal layouts, electrical design and traffic control/staging elements for inclusion in traffic design plans and other traffic engineering design-related activities. Work collaboratively in a team environment on traffic engineering-related design and study projects, including multi-disciplinary projects, contributing traffic engineering design and analysis information as needed, under the supervision of senior traffic team personnel.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Systems, Civil Engineering or related; 1 year of experience as a Research Assistant or a related position *internship experience is acceptable. Experience must include: Conduct traffic field data collection and analysis including travel counts, travel time runs, GIS data, maps, travel speed studies, traffic impact studies, accident data collection, tailpipe emission, signal timings, infrastructure verification, pavement condition, intersections, signage, and pavement markings. Operate strategies to account road safety design and functionality of end-users, capacity analysis and transportation vehicle and system. Conduct civil engineering laboratory sessions including traffic and transportation, soil mechanics, statics and dynamics, fluid mechanics, hydraulics, materials, and geology.
