Mississippi Employer Supply Room Associate (LWJC) in Laurel, Mississippi

Primarily responsible for maintaining cleanliness of break rooms and restrooms, maintain cleanliness of smocks, distribute supplies. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment, and work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.    

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND

TASKS:                        

 

Clean, sweep up any trash off the floors and take out the trash in the main break rooms, the break area outside, and the break room in the Live Hang area after start up and immediately following each break.  They are also to clean and sanitize each table in both the main break rooms, the break area outside and in the break room in the Live Hang area.  All shifts are responsible for cleaning and/or monitoring all bathrooms (including the Live Hang bathroom) at least once every hour.  This includes cleaning both the toilets base and the seat, which is to be sanitized, cleaning and sanitizing the sinks, and checking for and/or refilling paper towels, toilet paper, and soap as well as cleaning up paper and any other trash off the floors.  All shifts will clean, sweep, mop the floors, and take out the trash in both conference rooms every day.  The tables in the conference rooms are to be cleaned and sanitized every day.  The paper towel/soap dispensers in the little conference room are to be check and/or refilled, the sink and microwave is to be cleaned and sanitized every day.  Trash is to be taken out on all shifts.  Each janitor is to restock the supplies on the cart so it is ready for the next shift.  At the end of each shift the janitor is to make sure the paper towel, soap, and toilet paper dispensers are full in every area.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
  • Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.

     

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Hatchery or relative poultry industry experience.
  • Basic math functions and skills.

     

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

     

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC)
  • Must be able to stand for an 8 hour shift
  • Will be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production
  • Maximum reach for both arms is from 10" to 36" at 30 to 80 degree angles. 
  • Maximum weight to lift is from 10 to 100 pounds.
