Ellisville State School LPN (Part-Time) - Contract Position in Laurel, Mississippi
This is a contractual position with no state benefits Position Open: March 17, 2025 Position Close: until filled Location: Campus Schedule 20 hours per week. Monday thru Sunday between the hours of 6:00 a.m. -10:30 p.m. Salary Range: $25-$27 per hour depending on experience
Position Description: The individual in this position will ensure that provided nursing care complies with Board of Nursing rules and regulations, and the IID Program policy through
- Evaluating and assessing each person(s) illness/injuries and document appropriately.
- Directly report to the Infection Control Supervisor.
- Assist with TB Skin Tests, Covid screening forms and perform Covid testing.
- When assigned to clinic or dorm, ensure that doctor's orders are carried out appropriately.
- Maintain effective communication with each person(s), family and members of the health care staff.
- Administer prescribed medication and treatment. Perform urine drug screens.
- May be required to accompany persons we serve to doctor appointments.
- Computer skills required.
- Other duties shall be carried out as assigned by the supervisor.
- Must have a valid Mississippi Drivers License and a safe driving record as outlined in the Ellisville State School Safety Manual.
Education:
- Typically requires a Certificate from an Approved School of Nursing, Licensure as an LPN and 0-4 years experience.
- MUST have a MS Nursing License or Multi-State License allowing you to work in the State of MS.
Employees of Ellisville State School cannot be considered for this position unless they resign from their current state service position.
